NG Models developed their own line of A320 moulds in the early 2020's. Often times it isn't very well appreciated that NG have been willing to use their castings to make lesser known, airlines.

I really didn't know much about the Greek flag carrier until I picked up a copy of this delightful modern airliner. Aegean Airlines is now the national airline of Greece. For a closer look, check out this detailed review, found here.

Russian metal has never been a central topic of my 1/400 collections. Aeroflot, as controversial as many Russian topics are in 2025, is still an important national flag carrier. There are also certain subjects that for their historical significance should be of interest to any and all 1/400 scale collectors. My Aeroflot fleet stands at 7 models. There are representatives from Gemini Jets, Phoenix Models, NG Models, and Aeroclassics. For a closer look, read on...

New Arrival: January '25 Aeroclassics

After the final set of Aeroclassics in 2024, it was hard to imagine a January '25 set that would rival it. While in my opinion the December set was overall better, the group from January was a real treat. The highlights for me were the Servivensa, and Varig 727s. I've been collecting since 2009, but I had not cared much for classics until about 2018. That means I've missed out on many fine models, but this new bunch have helped to fill in some gaps, for a quick glance at what came in, read on...

I'm breaking up the winter doldrums with the first arrivals of 2025! Phoenix models has been producing a very nice, wide variety of airlines over the course of the past year. I've been trying to keep up with them, and that's meant going back for some really nice 767s. Several of these seem to have been produced in quite limited quantities as many have disappeared at most retail stores. Thankfully, Jetcollector.com came through as they usually do. For a closer look at this group of handsome 767s, read on.

The first 1/400 scale model of 2025 has arrived here at Diecast Curio. A beautiful and nicely built 767-300ER from Phoenix Models painted in the most recent Air Seychelles livery. While the 767 collectors market has seen an uptick in 2024 into 2025 with several new castings, the Phoenix version remains the best available at this point in time. For more, read on.

The tricky business of collecting 1/400 scale:

Picture

There are many ways to characterize the ups and downs of collecting 1/400 scale aircraft. Most collectors have certainly experienced both amusement and disappointment upon unboxing one model compared the next due to a variety of reasons and expectations. My highest expectation though, is quality control and this month's arrivals had some real points of struggle and triumph...
