Aeroclassics, Aer Lingus A320-200: EI-CVA

The Aeroclassics A320 mould is perhaps one of the most widely produced, and longest running castings still in production today. With well over 250 known runs, (and counting) you can bet that just about any regular 1/400 scale collector has crossed paths with at least one example. Since 2009, this tooling has been the canvas for dozens of classic, and modern representations, and this Aer Lingus A320, registered EI-CVA is proof of the endurance of the mould. Aer Lingus updated it's livery in 2019 and Aeroclassics jumped on the opportunity to get a modern A320 to market, for a closer look, read on.

Even though the livery is modern, the subject, A320 number 1242, is quite old. The aircraft was delivered to Aer Lingus in the year 2000, and reported to the company for her entire career. The airplane was retired from service in September of '23, and has since been scrapped.

Notes:
There have only been three attempts at an Aer Lingus in 1/400 scale with the 2019's livery. This one, a Gemini Jets version from 2019 as well, and a third entrant from NG Models which released in January of 2025. The NG offering is an overall better model, but because it is newer it carried the variation of the green/white engines. Considering the variation, that means it is the AC vs the GJ, and the AC wins that battle every time.
