Aeroclassics, ASA Bristol Britannia: 5X-UVT

Propliners don't make up a signifiant portion of my collection. (Only about 23 of nearly 880 models). So my knowledge of their castings in 1/400 scale is limited. But what I can say, is that out of what I have seen, and own, the Bristol Britannia 300 is one of the prettiest. The 300 was a stretched version of the earlier 200 series. Gemini Jets, Southwest Airlines 737-7H4: N918WN

In 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, Gemini Jets released just one 1/400 Southwest Airlines model a year, but in 2020, Four different state flag-based liveries. Three of them, Tennessee, Florida, and this one, Illinois were all regular releases. The fourth, N946WN, a 737-700 painted in a special livery to honor the state flag of Louisiana was a retailer exclusive for airplane shop.com. I wrote about that exclusive model back in 2020. It doesn't take long to find examples of British imperialism when investigating airlines in countries that were once under the empire's rule. Jamaica was captured by the British in 1655. Britain formally gained Jamaica as colony from Spain under the Treaty of Madrid in 1670. The island remained under British control until independence in 1962. One year later, with the help of BOAC, the flag carrying airline of Jamaica was founded. Air Jamaica took delivery of 6Y-JMA, in August of 1975. Collecting national flag carriers is a primary objective when collecting 1/400 scale models. Airlines representing African countries are sometimes very hard to find because many other hobbyists also share the same objective. That and, many African countries struggle to fund and support a national airline. So, models like this one, the Air Tanzania 787-8 made by AV400 can be truly special.
