AV400, Air Tanzania 787-8: 5H-TCG

Collecting national flag carriers is a primary objective when collecting 1/400 scale models. Airlines representing African countries are sometimes very hard to find because many other hobbyists also share the same objective. That and, many African countries struggle to fund and support a national airline. So, models like this one, the Air Tanzania 787-8 made by AV400 can be truly special. AV400 or Aviation 400 began developing moulds capable of offering detachable landing gear in 2022. A few years later, and in 2025 you can find A330s, A350s, A380s, and 787s that all are being produced with this ultra modern feature. The 787-8 in particular came to market in May 2024, and there were four different liveries to choose from. Appropriately, the Boeing 787 delivery colors were one option (N787BX). A China Southern (B-2725), a ANA (JA820A), and this, the Air Tanzania (5H-TCG) were the other three options. It took me until April 2025 to secure a copy.

Notes:
Without being superfluous, I can simply say, this model is stunning. This is easily the most enjoyable, and engaging model I've purchased this year, and it's not even close. There are a few things that you have to be willing to trade in order to have the features that this model airplane has, but they are in my opinion, well worth it. This model is destined for a deeper review, so stay tuned.
