Constructed in 2009, this frame has only served with Saudi Arabian. The aircraft is consistently used on medium haul trips to southern Europe and is a common visitor to ports like Frankfort, Milan, and Toulouse. Airbus number 4057 is powered by two CFM turbofan engines. Long gone are the days where collectors are willing to part with their money for cradle mounted chassis. But fourteen years ago, a model like this with superior printing, and rolling gears was top of the line. While certain features like the engine cowlings are void of any meaningful details, the fuselage is another story.
When JC Wings really began to make its way into the 1/400 scale, it was fine detailing, not superior moulds that attracted collectors. This model which was released in 2010 is a nod to that effort. Its golden cheat line shimmers in the light. The cabin windows and escape hatches are neatly framed. The wings have adequate details, and the vertical stabilizer nicely captures the Saudia logo. In 2016, near the time of the JC Wings and Gemini Jets partnership, this mould was replaced by a newer mould that while seamless, is also in my opinion inferior.
