Originally built for Aviaco, the Spanish leisure airline with a cult following and a checkered past, EC-FOZ was delivered September 8th, 1982. The aircraft was line number 2022 and was built at the McDonnell Douglas Long Beach plant. The airplane served with Aviaco from 1982 until she was transferred to Iberia in 1999. The aircraft finished her career in 2008, and was finally broken apart in Madrid in 2022. The real thing: EC-FOZ traveling on the tarmac at Madrid in October of 2005. There's something about the stunning detail on this mould, and the combination of it with one of the most iconic European liveries ever made. I usually buy somewhere between 40 and 80 models a year. When one makes you stop and gander more than the rest, that says something. This model is nearly perfect, and for me, is the standard in 1/400 scale. This is a must-have model. Sources:
