It's been a long while since we've seen a full fledge physical altercation on pit road after a Cup race, but after a series of on track fireworks during the Bristol night race, Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar went head to head. After a short but very physical confrontation, Carson Hocevar turned to rile the fans as other Cup drivers watched and yelled in disapproval. The past 72 hours have been a media frenzy, but I'm making sure all of the new and interesting diecast cars that have been announced by Lionel Racing get the attention they deserve! There's a lot to look at as usual, read on....

Starting the 2026 Nascar Chase for the Cup at Darlington Raceway with the Southern 500 is about as good as you can get. I was fortunate enough to be in attendance at the 63rd running of this Nascar crown jewel, and as Christopher Bell took the checkered flag for his 14th career win, it was time to turn our attention to a stacked week of Nascar 1/64 diecast. Between new 2026 1/64s with the Nascar Chase banner, to Red Bull LMSCs, to some nice support series offerings, there's a ton to dig into this week, and as per usual, there's sure to be something that catches your attention. For the latest, read on!

Even though Nascar was off this week, Lionel Racing made sure there were still plenty of new and interesting 1/64 scale Nascar diecast cars to pay attention to. They also gave collectors a number of raced diecast from the previous week that didn't originally get announcements. Among some of the newly posted raced versions of several cars, there are some great 2026 standard schemes, a few of those could even contended for scheme of the year honors. There's even a special four-pack of 1/64s to take a closer look at this week with a special auto'd version offering.  Read on for more....

Diecast Update: Week of 6/15/26

The 23rd edition of the 2026 Diecast Update is now up and running. There's a bunch of new cars to take a look at this week, but a disappointing detail that we can't overlook is the missing raced version of Denny Hamlin's Pocono car. With the sponsorship of not just Kings Hawaiian, but also Universal's Minions, Lionel has not been given the approval to produce a raced version of Denny's 64th win, a real shame. Some collectors hold out hope, but while we wait, there's plenty more to discuss. With the San Diego road course upon us, there's several new schemes, and recent ones to review, read on!

It has been a week of unprecedented sadness in the Nascar world. The sudden and tragic loss of Nascar great, Kyle Busch has left the racing world reeling. The sport that brings so many, so much joy, turned into a nightmare when it was announced on Thursday, May 21st, that Busch had passed away at age 41. Kyle leaves behind a family and the racing community far better off than what he found it, and a legacy that will last forever. We will carry on this week as always, but of course mindfully of what's been lost.

Race number 12 of the 2026 season is now history. Shane van Gisbergen once again left his mark on the Cup series by putting together one of the most impressive road course race performances of all time. His Superfile Chevy along with many other new and interesting diecast are now up for preorder from Lionel Racing. There's something from each of the three main OEMS, and there's a new Dodge Ram in the mix as well. We've got four new Penske cars, a Coke 600 scheme, and some real good lookers in this bunch. For the full analysis of this week's 1/64 selection, read on...

After a week off, we're back with tons of new diecast material from Lionel Racing to take a closer look at. There have been many new 1/64 scale diecast cars that have been queued up for preorder. There's no doubt that Lionel will be setting records this week with Carson Hocevar's massive first career win at Talladega, and then he followed that up with another win in the Truck series for Spire at Texas. Not only that, Nascar's most popular driver, Chase Elliott also notched a win as well. There's a lot of great looking cars in each of the top four series to review, so for that and much more, read on.

This was another monster week in the world of 1/64 scale diecast race cars. Special paint schemes, new OEMS, really cool raced diecast all abound in this edition. The 2026 season is officially in full swing. A fantastic week of racing at Daytona has produced some classic race cars that will go down in history. Tyler Reddick capped off the weekend by winning his first Daytona 500. Austin Hill put on another clinic for the O'Reilly field, and Chandler Smith stole the trophy from the rest of the drivers in the Craftsman Truck series. There's that and much more to review, for all the details, read on!
