Diecast Update: Week of 7/13/26

According to the Gluck Poll, Atlanta ended up being the best race of the 2026 season. Even after a lengthy rain delay that resulted in a race that started at 7pm resuming well after midnight, the summer Atlanta race yielded great ratings. Ryan Blaney who has been leading the Fords all year, and typically runs very well at Atlanta would not be denied. All race long he was challenged, and all race long he responded. Blaney's raced Bodyarmor Flash IV Mustang leads the way in the 1/64 scale this week, and we've got cars in almost every series up for preorder now. Raced Version: (Atlanta)

Team Penske has only visited victory lane three times this year and only two of those three trips were on the occasion of a full length race. Joey Logano won his duel at Daytona, the other two wins have come at the hands of Ryan Blaney. First at Phoenix in the spring, and now a second win for the blue oval at the second Atlanta race. This car will feature some great character after Blaney connected with the wall hard late in the third stage of the race. This is win number 18 for Blaney, and it puts him 49th all-time. 

The other raced version we've got this week is Justin Allgaier's No. 7 Jarrett Camaro that the top tier JRM team was able to bring to victory lane after a calamitous night at Atlanta. Jarrett is a lesser called upon, but still long-time JRM sponsor that was on the car at Allgaier won his 6th race of the 2026 season, and the 34th of his storied career. Continuing to win races, Allgaier who was once rumored to be contemplating retirement is having too much fun to quit.

Chevy:

We've become accustomed to seeing Carson Hocevar drive the Chili's car, or the Spectrum car, or the Zeigler car, but at Sonoma, Classic Collision put their brand on the door of the No. 77 Spire Chevy. Hocevar is probably underrated at road courses. He's been running consistently in the top half of the field when avoiding incidents and finished the Save Mart 350 in 11th place. Hocevar was also able to claim 4 stage points in that event. This is the 7th 1/64 of the No. 77 in 2026, and our only Chevy this week.

Ford:

The 6th single issued 1/64 of the year for Brad Keselowski was announced this week. TravelCenters of America has been a new and emerging supporter of RFK for the past couple of years, and this great looking Mustang raced at Chicagoland last week. The race went well enough for a 21st place finish which is set of the story of Brad's season. He's sitting 19th in the points presently. This car looks awesome, and I've ranked this as the best 1/64 of the year. 

One of the very best paint schemes of the year has to be this Ryan Blaney Wabash throwback to former Team Penske driver, Ryan Newman. For many years, Newman drove the Alltel and once, he even drove that car to victory at the Daytona 500 (2008). This car was raced appropriately by Blaney at Pocano, the site of Ryan's first win in the Cup series, the perfect crossover scheme, and location. This is the best 12 car so far just after the patriotic Advance car.

One car that never made it to public preorder is this same Bodyarmor Flash IV Ford that Ryan Blaney drove on Sunday to victory at Atlanta. It seems as though this car was bought outright by the Team Penske fan store. It has popped up on their social media, but I can't confirm if it has been available at the track side merch haulers as well. This car looks great, I'm not entirely sure about the black hood, but regardless, the design is now synonymous with winning. It looks like you can order a copy from the Penske Shop.

Toyota:

Free Bird spring water seems to be having a great time with their foray into Nascar in 2026. They've followed up their outstanding brand launching paint scheme with this patriotic version that just debuted at EchoPark Speedway on Sunday for the Quaker State 400. While the car was quick, and Briscoe ran in the top half of the field for most of the night, he was collected in a big crash on lap 254 that involved him, Riley Herbst, and Kyle Larson. The damage would be terminal and Briscoe would sadly finish 36th.

The final standard Cup 1/64 for the week is this patriotic SAIA Camry that Christopher Bell drove at Chicagoland Speedway last week. This is the first time that SAIA has approved on a Gibbs car other than the No. 54. This paint scheme with the very light white camo base and the red stripes with a flourish of blue and white stars, it looks really good. Bell was chasing down teammate Chase Briscoe in the final laps, but couldn't quite catch the 19 car before Chase crossed the line on America's 250th birthday.

Standard Versions (O.A.P.S.)

One thing I wouldn't have predicted is that we'd be offered a Kyle Sieg diecast before we were offered a Ryan Sieg diecast. Kyle and RSS Racing brought this Austin HOSE Camaro to Circuit of the Americas back in February for the Focused Health 250. Kyle had a very decent afternoon at the high speed road course and brought his Chevy home in 24th place with is probably a good tick above where he should have finished. This is a nice design!

Standard Version (ARCA)

Presely Sarah and Fast Track racing make their way into 1/64 scale for the first time with this ARCA Ford Fusion sponsored by GoGut. Sarah has made just one start in the ARCA series this year, and that was at Daytona in the spring where the No. 9 car ended up finishing 27th. This car will be of course based on the old Gen 6 mould and should turn out nicely should it meet MOQ. This is the fifth ARCA standard scheme of 2026, and the only Ford so far.

LMSC/CARS Tour

It's been some time since Lionel Racing has been able to offer a Kevin Harvick diecast. Later this month, Harvick will climb aboard this Rackley WAR LMSC with sponsorship from Realtree. Celebrating their 40th anniversary, Harvick will bring the brand to Idaho in late July. The car also displays sponsorship support from longtime Harvick pattern, Hunt Brother's pizza, and Hendrickcars.com. This car should be a nice LMSC addition to those who collect the line.

Standard Special Diecast

The annual Nascar Authentics advent calendar continues in 2026. Last year the Lionel announced their calendar in June.  A month later this year, but it is confirmed that the popular product will make a return. While several cars will be kept a secret until, we can see that the set will at least feature the Spire Chili's Chevy, the JRM Bass Pro LMSC, and the Trackhouse Tootsies Chevy.

Drop Preview Report

Thanks to the Instagram user highlighted to the right (tb324diecastreviews), we've got more 2026 cars showing up on the market. These aren't the only cars that appear to have been produced and several track side merchandise haulers are shipping in the latest cars via air freight. In the photograph to the right we can see all three Front Row Motorsports drivers now have their first 1/64s of 2026. Also, the sole Cole Custer Next Gen 1/64 of 2026 a Haas Tooling Chevy is present along with the patriotic Blaney Bodyarmor car, and the Daytona 500 winning scheme driven by Tyler Reddick. Each of these look particularly nice.

Conclusion:
This week finishes up with a nice variety of new preorder options for 1/64 scale Nascar collectors. As is usually the case these days, Chevy's, Fords, Toyotas, and more can be found in this week's line up. Lionel's ability to continually keep the 1/64 line fresh and interesting this year is awesome, and there are a couple of cars from this line up that could really turn out beautifully. The Ryan Blaney tribute car to Ryan Newman is a really interesting and well made design. I think that the Brad Keselowski Travelcenters of America is the best looking No. 6 Mustang this year, and both of the Joe Gibbs patriotic Camrys are no-brainers.

The pair of Blaney cars and the Brad K. Fords are at the top of my list this week, and while we can only preorder two of the three, each of them are top tier selections I'm hoping to add to the collection this year.
