1/64 Diecast Update: Week of 10/5/25

With Kansas in the books, a race that ended in shocking fashion, there's a lot to reflect on, especially for the lead Toyota teams in JGR and 23XL. In the diecast world, another week brings another great set of 1/64 to think about and discuss. From raced versions to ARCA, from Trucks to Cup, there are a bunch of new race cars to review in this week's preorder selection group. In a primarily Chevy lineup, we have one ARCA Toyota, but no Fords at all. For a closer look let's get into on this week's edition of the Diecast Update.

Raced Version: (Kansas)

Chase Elliot was able to capitalize on a full on attack by Denny Hamlin which forced 23XL driver, Bubba Wallace up and out of the way allowing a charging Chase Elliott who had fresher tired the opportunity to take the win away. Kelly Blue Book has been a longtime sponsor of Chase Elliott, but the company usually only purchases a couple of races each year. It's been since 2020 that Chase has been able to send their car to Victory Lane. This is his second win overall at Kansas, and 21st career victory placing him 40th all-time.

Standard Versions (Cup)

Chevy:
Ross Chastain's Busch Light Chevy gets another new livery for the upcoming race at Talladega. The car features a green, black and brown camouflage base with day glow orange accents and numbers. I don't typically go for camo cars, but this one looks really sharp. While Chastain is now removed from the playoffs, he's still had a great year. Not making the final four is indeed disappointing, but he's lacked speed overall.

Austin Dillon partners with the Marine Corps celebrating their 250th anniversary and promotes the Marine's Toys for Tots Christmastime charity. This car took to the race track at New Hampshire back in September and Austin Dillon was able to bring it home in the 13th position after starting 28th. Dillon typically runs this car annually, so it's nice to see the TFT care back in 2025.

The scheme of the week in my opinion is this proper looking race car from the Kaulig garage. Twice this year so far, A.J. Allmendinger has been the pilot of the No. 16 Chevy bearing the Black's Tire Company colors three times this season at Martinsville, Richmond, and Darlington respectively.  The car features a white base with blue tread marks that transition upwards. The car also sports a nice neon yellow pinstripe that runs from the rocker panels across the nose of the race car.

Standard Version (Trucks)

When you think of Nascar diecast, you have to also think about Circle B Diecast, one of the top Nascar memorabilia distributers in the nation. They've scaled back their sponsorship in general this year, but they still allowed race fans to pool their money by promising a truck with their name on it. Niece Motorsports and Josh Bilicki will bring this truck to the Roval at Charlotte this week. Josh is a trusted name in the garage, especially on road courses. This will be his second Truck race of the year.

Standard Version (ARCA)

Last up this week and making a pretty big splash in the grassroots area, this 06 Toyota Camry driven by Brayton Laster is making waves. Laster finished up the 2025 season in 17th place but looks to continue to make an impact next year.

Conclusion:
This week was a nice one, especially for Chevy fans. It was probably in general, a big one for Nascar too, with its  most popular driver finding victory lane for the second time this season. This was a big win for Chase Elliott, and the timing couldn't be better. Having the Hendrick Motorsports 9 team could be bad news for the rest of the field. The other Cup Chevys in Chastain's Busch Light camo, and A.J's Black's Tire Chevy are both really nice late season offerings. I'll be placing an order for Allendinger's car, and I'm feeling good about the car's chances of being produced. The other lower tier offerings are pretty nice as well, I'm fairly confident both of those cars will meet MOQ too. That's it for this week, we'll see you back here on Monday for the Diecast Update.
