August is coming to a close. With Labor Day weekend ahead of us, that means that Darlington is just around the corner. But before we turn our attention to the final ten races of the season, there are a few very unique liveries that are being offered by Lionel based off of this past weekend's regular season finale at Daytona. We also have a chance to inspect a 1/64 being offered to commemorate Austin Dillons surprising victory at Richmond last weekend, locking him into the playoffs. For a full report on this week's 1/64 pre-orders, read on...

Raced Versions: (Richmond)

Austin Dillon, Richard Childress, and the No. 3 team clearly had Richmond circled and highlighted when they put together their 2025 season calendar. After being given the win but stripped of the benefits after a strong but contentious effort at the track in 2024, Dillon put on a clinic. Protecting his tires, and avoiding chaos, Dillon and the No. 3 team were able to masterfully lead the field to the checkered flag. Even with other desperate and well funded teams making the hard charge, it was a great night and win for RCR.

Standard Versions (Cup)

Chevy:

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. quite flatly has struggled over the second half of the season. He’s only seen one top ten finish since Nashville. A run-in with Carson Hocevar there seems to have truly derailed the team. Hyack was hanging around the playoff transfer spot up until that point, but the 47 group has clearly lost something. Hopefully Jack Link’s Jerky can spur on something great at Daytona.

Ford:
This hasn’t been the season that RFK was looking for. Heading into Daytona with none of their teams locked into the playoffs is a miss way wide of the mark. But the organization is still displaying momentum. While performance in Nascar is the ultimate benchmark, being noticed and standing out is still an important part of the game that can translate into gains later down the line. Another Daytona livery we are looking forward to is Ryan Preece’s Little Bites/Capri Sun funfetti Ford complete with a chromed out pink door number will be turning heads.

Toyota:
2025 has certainly been a season of growth for Legacy Motor Club. Both the No. 42, and the No. 43 teams have gained some good momentum over the summer and occasionally display top-tier speed. It’s great to see LMC continue to embrace their roots at Daytona with the return of STP to Erik Jones’ Camry. This day glow orange and Petty blue diecast is a must-buy.

Conclusion:
It’s certainly nice to have a lighter week. With just ten races left, there likely aren’t too many more new cars planned for the 2025 season. Last week saw Lionel announce the first 1/64 scale pre-order for the 2026 season, and I’m confident in the next few weeks, we’ll start to see more 2026 pre-orders as well. This was a nice calm week with a small handful of Cup liveries. No other 1/64s from any other league were listed, but that will most certainly change after whatever transpires at Daytona. That’s it for this week, we’ll see you back here next week for the Diecast Update!
