Most Nascar teams host special events at their race shop that openly welcome fans. Typically referred to as 'Fan Days,' the teams, drivers and sponsors meet fans for photos, autographs and shop tours. I've been fortunate enough to attend several such events. One of the first Fan Days that I was able to participate in was the Front Row Motorsports event during the Coke 600 weekend, May 25th, 2023. For a short history on this event, read more here.

There's something about the month of March in the Carolinas. The temperature begins to warm up, things begin to turn green, (pollen is everywhere), and the Nascar touring series comes to Martinsville, Virginia. It truly feels like starting the summer early. I was only able to make it up to the track for the Cup race this time around, but I fit a lot of fun into a short period of time. Here's a short report of this adventure.

Last week I had the awesome opportunity to venture to the historic and timeless, Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville Virginia. I was only able to dedicate my Saturday to the weekend long event, so I didn't get to witness the Cup elimination race on Sunday, but there was plenty of action to take in all day at the track before the Ritchie Bros. 250. The race day ticket which was marked as 'General Admission' also permitted fans to take in Cup practice and qualifying. For all the details, read on...

Last week we had the opportunity to join an open invitation sent out to race fans via social media to celebrate and witness the unveiling of a new paint scheme for Jr. Motorsports. This year, along with four full-time teams, JRM has been able to fund and race a part-time team as well. That car, the No. 9 JRM Chevy has hosted a variety of all-star contenders from Ross Chastain to Shane van Gisbergen, and others. The next driver scheduled to sit behind the wheel is Connor Mosack. The last time I was able to attend a Nascar race at Watkins Glen, NY was in 2012. It seemed like it was time to revisit my favorite road course. The emergence of both Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch has injected new meaning to road course racing, and the idea of seeing them race in person was enough to spur a 10 hour drive to NY. Read on for a full weekend recap.

On Thursday, July 17th at 1PM, Joe Gibbs, Denny Hamlin, and a host of JGR, and Bob's Discount Furniture team members unveiled a brand new paint scheme for Denny Hamlin during the 2025 season. The event marked Bob's first foray into Nascar and the two companies put an exclamation point on how to truly activate a new sponsorship in Nascar. From a well thought out event with lots of staff members present to help and direct, to incredible fan outreach, this was a great event. For more, read on...

I've been fortunate to attend dozens of Nascar races over the past 15-20 years. It seemed appropriate to set up a Race Day blog to keep track of my experiences and to write about the things I've seen, and purchased. There's also many parallels between Diecast Culture in Nascar and the full-fledged race day experience that anyone can have at the race tracks. From purchasing 1/64s, to finding program cars, and even getting diecast signed by drivers, there's a lot to talk about, so for more, read on...
