LEGO Photo of the Day: Padmé and Commander Fox

I've recently finished building a rather unpopular LEGO set from 2023. The Coruscant Guard Gunship, set number 75354 was released in September of 2023. This set, like many recent sets is a downsized version of a set that has been offered by LEGO in the past. One of the reasons this set has received criticism is because of the Commander Fox minifigure. For a closer look at two of the five figures from this set, read on...

LEGO released this set, (75354) Coruscant Guard Gunship on September 21st 2023. The set has 1083 pieces, and five minifigures. The set is still available as of the spring of 2025, but looks to be retiring towards the end of the year. The set retails for $139.99, but can also be found on sale for $112 at other retailers. The set is the first Clone Gunship since the 2013 version.

One of the main draws of this set is the new and exclusive minifigures. I decided to focus on just a pair of them for today's POTD. The set itself is based off of one single episode from the 'Clone Wars' cartoon series. It's from season six, and the episode is called 'Crisis of the Heart.' This is the first red gunship that LEGO has produced.

The two minifigures I wanted to take a closer look at were Padmé Amidala, and Commander Fox. Starting with Padmé, this is the first minifigure representing her in the LEGO universe for quite some time. She's wearing her typical adventure/tactical clothing that appears frequently throughout the 'Clone Wars' saga. Her figure also features two different facial expressions.

The other figure is one that has received much criticism from LEGO Star Wars fans, and that's the phase two Commander Fox shock trooper. The main issues around the figure include the helmet visor, which should be black. Also, high ranking shock troopers wore a waist cape, but the worst detail is the quality of the printing on the figure. The chest plate armor should be as white as the clone armor seen on Commander Fox's legs, but because of poor printing quality on a red brick piece, his chest armor appears pink. It's nice to have a Commander Fox, but LEGO could do better.

Notes:
Overall, these are a fun couple of figures to own. Padmé is a relatively tricky character to find in LEGO form, and with the set, you also get a Palpatine, and some other Coruscant Guard troopers as well. These two are my favorite from the set collectively, but it's a shame that Commander Fox is such a lackluster effort from LEGO.
