Good news! in 2024, Lego has brought back F1 car to the Speed Champions line. As more car enthusiasts are discovering the potential in the popular new category, Lego has identified the benefits of including cars from the world's most popular racing series, Formula 1. Until this point, just a few F1 cars have been available to collectors from this line, and it's been since 2022 that we've seen F! cars at all. So far in 2024, we've got two, this attractive papaya orange McLaren, and a green Aston. So how does this McLaren do? Read on for more...

Upon opening the box, the set comes with three polly bags, a chassis, a sheet full of decals, and a construction booklet. The set has 245 pieces and retails for around $25 dollars.

I usually take my time to build Lego. So I can't give a good description about how long this will take the average Lego fan to build. I chipped away at this model for about a week.

This set did become tedious because of the amount of stickers. I can certainly understand why there are so many, as 1/1 F1 race cars are adorned with sometimes dozens of sponsors. There are still several printed pieces in this set, but I'd take a few more.

The joy of this set is absolutely the build process. The finished product certainly resembles an F1 race car which is really impressive. It is evident that a lot of Lego ingenuity, and engineering went into making sure the build not only felt authentically Lego, but also, authentically F1.

This set was overall, a wonderful build. At 245 pieces, and several spares, the brick count for the price was very fair. Add in some really enjoyable building techniques, and nice looking finished product, this is one of my favorite Speed Champion models. The stickers were on the excessive side, and I'm waiting for the day that Lego abandons them. This set gets and 8 out of 10, making in an Iconic System in the Speed Champions line.
