Gold Line: Shane Van Gisbergen '24 Wendy's' Chevy

Kaulig Racing fielded three cars in 2024. The 13, the 16, and the 31. The 16 was piloted by five different drivers, one of them being Shane Van Gisbergen. SVG participated in twelve races of the 2024 season. While he wasn't able to recapture the magic from his 2023 Chicago victory, he still had some great moments. Wendy's sponsored Van Gisbergen three times during the 2024 season, the first of those events was the spring Talladega race. Shane finished 28th, but brought the car home on the lead lap. Gold Line: Corey Lajoie '24 Schluter Systems' Camaro

The 2024 season was perhaps the most tumultuous of Corey Lajoie's career, but also it was the most transitional season any driver has faced in recent  memory. It's not often in the Cup series that drivers trade seats, or are effectively traded between teams. After 29 races a deal would be done between Spire Motorsports and Rick Ware Racing that would send Lajoie to the 51, and would bring Justin Haley to the number 7 Camaro. Long time Lajoie partner, Schluter Systems rode with Lajoie on both teams. For a closer look, read on...

Gold Line: Kyle Larson '24 Indy 500/Coke 600' Two Car Set

On the eve of Kyle Larson's second attempt of 'the double,' it seemed appropriate to take a look at this 1/64 scale two pack commemorating last year's (2024) Indy 500 and Coke 600. The set features the two cars Kyle Larson drove, or intended to drive rather, on Sunday, May 26th. The 108th Indy 500 was unfortunately delayed in 2024, and while Larson finished all 200 laps and finished 18th for the Arrow McLaren team, he'd reach the Coke 600 late. The race began without him, and by the time he arrived, the race was cancelled. For a closer look, read on...

Gold Line: Denny Hamlin 'Mavis, Richmond Win' Camry

On a day trip to Charlotte in the spring of 2025, I stopped into the JRG Race shop. I hadn't visited JGR since 2020 and it was interesting to look around. Although the JGR shop is one of my least favorites, they do have a nice little fan shop. While they didn't have many diecast cars in stock, the only 1/64 available was this Denny Hamlin 2024 Toyota Owners 400 Richmond win replica. For a closer look, read on...

In 2024 RFK recruited a new partner for four races. Consumer Cellular, the postpaid cellular service provider which focuses on customers 50 and over, found advertising with the team worthwhile. The team activated the brand's offer to save customers half of their normal cell phone bill by turning a Cup car into a convertible. Consumer Cellular agreed to return to the team in 2025. Gold Line: Brad Keselowski '24 Body Guard' Ford Mustang

Symbiotic paint schemes are more common in Nascar than ever before. Fastenal, one of America's fortune 500 companies, and a major industrial supplier, has been a long-time partner of RFK racing. They committed to 15 races as the primary sponsor for Chris Buescher in 2024, and would also appear on team owner Brad Keselowski's car twice. The Fastenal Body Guard Mustang ran on track at Martinsville in the spring, and at Indianapolis in the summer. For a closer look at this two-race livery, read on...

Gold Line: Chris Buescher '24 Fastenal' Ford Mustang

The 2024 season was a bit of a regression for Chris Buescher. While he was able to secure a win at Watkins Glenn, the victory came too late in the season to qualify the RFK Racing team for the playoffs. Buescher ran a good portion of the season with financial support from the Fastenal industrial supply company. The stalwart RFK supporter committed to 15 races on the season, along with more races on other RFK cars. For a closer look at Lionel's replication, read on...

Gold Line: Josh Berry '24 Miner' Ford Mustang

Josh Berry's rise in Nascar has been both unique, and exciting. 2024 was Berry's first full season in the Cup series. He was hired by the now defunct Stewart Haas Racing, (reformed as Haas Factory Team) to pilot the SHR number 4, Dark Horse Ford Mustang. His rookie campaign would be marred with many issues. He was only able to complete 26 of the 36 races. This Miner Mustang however, represents one of his better days, for a closer look, read on.

Winner's Circle: William Byron '24 'Axalta Daytona 500' Chevy Camaro

In 2023 Lionel Racing upgraded its Nascar Authentics brand by creating a new sub line, 'Winner's Circle.' These new waves of cars come in a plastic bubble package and feature raced-won versions of race cars from all three of Nascar's top series.

Now, this isn't the original WInner's Circle line. Long-time collectors like myself remember the heydays of Nascar diecast, and back in the 90's Winner's Circle diecast were 1/64 scale race cars that came fastened to a plastic pit stall complete with 1/64 scale pit crews rushing to make adjustments. This is not that, but it is a noteworthy effort made by Lionel to add a little something extra to their mainline retail product. Gold Line: Brad Keselowski 2024 'Castrol' Ford Mustang

In 2022, Brad Keselowski made perhaps, one of the biggest decisions of his life. After 11 years of full-time Cup racing, (all of which were out of the Team Penske garage) he would step away for a new opportunity. That move was an ownership role at the company formerly known as 'Roush Fenway,' now known as 'RFK' or 'Roush Fenway Keselowski racing.' Brad is a natural leader and his goal for winning as an owner-driver was finally realized after 110 starts. He won in dramatic fashion at the legendary Darlington Raceway in this epic livery. For more on this throwback livery, read on.
