Gold Line: Chase Elliott 2023 'Napa Gold Filters' Camaro

2023 was a pretty forgettable year for Chase Elliott. Not only did he break is leg in a snow boarding accident costing him to miss 7 races, but he also crashed out of the Daytona 500, and after getting into an on-track altercation with Denny Hamlin, ended up suspended as well. Chase Elliott's number 10 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy Camaro features an all-black matte base. Gold numbers adorne the front quarter panel and roof, as well as the front and rear bumper. The NAPA emblem is centered on the door and the hood. Associate sponsor stickers cover much of the remaining free space. Gold lines follow the contour of the engine compartment. Gold lines are also used to create a pattern around the forward portion of the door centered NAPA emblem, and run beneath the number 9 towards the front suspension. Goodyear, KBB, Hooters, Llumar, Unifirst, and Coca-Cola all are represented, along with an Axalta logo among others on the B post.

This is a nice product from Lionel, the main issue is in the stance of the race car. The plastic moulding the comprises the car's under side doesn't fit into the metal casting snuggly enough, so some minor warping gives the car an awkward resting pose. The finishing on the stock car is good though, and black Chase Elliott cars are as good as PB & J. This car will likely receive between an 8 or 9 when it goes in for scoring. It's a great interruption to the usual NAPA colors.
