The real thing: Jeff Gordon rolls on the apron at Texas Motor Speedway on November 8th, 2015. (Photograph courtesy of Lionel Racing). Service King jumps onboard with Hendrick Motorsports for one final time in the 2015 season. Gordon ran this livery just once during race number 34 at Fort Worth in November. Gordon finished 9th that day after starting from the 18th position in the penultimate round of the Clash. It should also be remembered that the 24 team went on an impressive playoff run all the way to the championship race at Homestead after gaining momentum late in the playoffs. That momentum came as a result of an overtime win at Martinsville Speedway. The same race that saw the epic clash between Joey Logano, and Matt Kenseth. The 1/64 version of this race car boasts a ton of realism and accuracy. It even includes the playoff indicators (bright yellow window banner, and spoiler). It's also got Gordon's play off win sticker on the name rail among other great details. Notes:
This Chevy SS is a bit unique compared to most that were produced by Lionel in 2015. This car features a glossy high metal flake paint. It sparkles beautifully in good light. The print work on the vehicle is very good as well. There are several details that make this car distinct, and a nice time piece from the late 2015 Nascar season.
