The real thing: Tony Stewart on the straight at Miami Homestead in 1999 during the Pennzoil 400 and on his way to historic win number 3. (Photograph courtesy of Nascar.com). Notes: The late 90's and early 2000's were some of the greatest years in Nascar history. To be a part of that greatness is special. To be a major icon during that period truly is spectacular. Stewart continues to set records, and impact the racing world in 2025. But between 2000 and 2024, as both an owner and a driver, there are very few people who have moulded the sport the way Stewart has. Hasbro toys began producing 1/64 diecast cars under the Winner's Circle brand in 1996. They maintained proprietary rights until Lionel Racing took up the mantle in 2015. Considering the age of the car, this little model has stood the test of time well, and it's certainly up to the modern standard in build quality. While the car itself, and the paint and printing are a hair more problematic. (Notice how the site stripe on the side of the car which should be situated higher than it is creates an awkward overlap with the number '20' on the door). While this isn't a major issue, the car isn't as good looking as the ones Action Performance Companies Inc. were making during the same time period. This is still a nice special edition piece to honor Stewart's three wins. Sources:
