The agreement between NG Models and the newly established Buchannan Model Company seems to be working out quite well so far. Last Month Buchannan Models successfully brought to life their first 1/400 scale model airplane. The subject, a British Airways hybrid livery. We are shockingly at the halfway point of 2022 and with the fast passing of the month arrives the most recent spread of upcoming Gemini Jets releases. As the arrival of May's models have been largely underwhelming due to the usually factory issues, so too are the list of upcoming models. Presumably, as a result of last month's delays, May's arrivals were announced on the penultimate Friday of the month. There are some nice DC-6s this month and the usual representation of international fare. There is plenty of history to study and models from six different continents across nearly 8 decades. 

It seems as though Gemini Jets has something it hasn't really had in a while. Momentum. Everyone can do something well, but when you're unsure of what that is yourself, you tend to struggle. Gemini has been blasted for its lack of QC, and usually it's been justifiable. But it doesn't mean Gemini Jets should be avoided like the plague. Gemini has some of the best, and some of the only 1/400 scale moulds of small regional airplanes, and at long last, we are seeing them regularly. 

There was a lot of anticipation this month about what would be featured. Early reports indicated a number of deregulation jets, some tri-jets and some props as well. Be it global congestion in shipping, Covid 19, economic woes, or a combination of the three, I am really am content to see a somewhat shorter release schedule for the coming month.

Gemini Jets rolls on in 2022 continuing to do Gemini Jets things. If a yawn could yawn, that would be Gemini Jets in February 2022. 

Because Gemini combined the December and January releases a little over a month ago,  the February 2022 wave is the first overall for the year. Let's take a look at what's to come.

Happily, 2022 is starting out with a much lighter then usual release schedule from NG Models. While that may not be great news for most collectors, the effort needed to keep up with everything in the world of 1/400 scale from the perspective of a writer is daunting.

This month, just six new models are expected from NG, but each of the six will be on moulds that are unparalleled in 1/400.

It looks as though the continued worldwide economic and shipping struggles will continue to impact ADI at the end of 2021. This will be the  third and fourth month in a row of combined monthly releases. The good news though is that there are a handful of nice looking options. 

The best news of all is that both of the superb JC Wings 777 and 787 moulds appear to be here to stay. Two 'flaps-up, flaps-down' options are available this month and both will be popular provided an absence of production issues.
