NG Models, Scandinavian MD-87: LN-RMU

In 2025, NG Models utilized their MD casting to launch the model company's first ever MD-87 aircraft in 1/400 scale. In February, three SAS MD-87s were released onto the 1/400 scale market. Each aircraft was released wearing the 'red engins' livery from the late 90's that lasted until almost 2020. Today's subject is the Norwegian registered LN-RMU. NG Model, Kuwait Airways A330-243: PK-APA

As I work to continue building my national flag carrying fleets, a new A330 arrived this week which assists in modernizing the representation of the middle eastern country, Kuwait. The airline has seen a substantial amount of attention in 1/400 scale over the last five years with over 20 models either announced or already produced. Today's example is from 2021. NG Models, Iberia Airlines MD-88: EC-FOZ

I think NG Models were well aware of how good their MD-80 series mould castings were when they first hit the diecast market in early 2024. Surprisingly though, after the initial release, the mould went away for several months. Gladly though, it's back in 2025 in a big way. So far, nine different models have been featured including several of the major MD-8X series operators, American Airlines, and Delta. NG Models, Aer Lingus A321neo: EI-LRA

NG Models has not been shy about using their, or perhaps HYJLwings' A321neo casting. As of February 2025, there have been 63 different A321neos produced. This Aer Lingus example is the first of those 63 however. I own six of these, and each one is nice in its own right.

I'm not a huge fan of most Euro-white liveries, but there's something about this current scheme that is really sharp and refreshing. The mould itself is very modern and looks great in hand. This is a nice product from NG in all aspects. For a closer look, read on.

NG Models has taken a lot of heat for their selection over the past few years, but people so quickly forget that they take big swings at some very unique airplanes that don't always sell well. NG Models, Aegean Airlines A320-232WL: SX-DNB

Aegean has been the flag-carrying airline of Greece since 2013 following the acquisition of Olympic Air. While Olympic Air, formerly Olympic Airlines, has gotten plenty of attention in 1/400 scale, Aegean Airlines has seen a scant few releases. In fact, before NG Models prioritized a number of modern airbus airframes (there have been 5 releases to date), only Phoenix Models has made a single 1/400 scale model representing A3's existence. NG Models, United Airlines 737-900: N38417

It wasn't surprising to learn that United Airlines possessed one hundred and twenty six 737-900ERs. But it was surprising to see that the combined average age of their 737-900ERs was 10.9 years. It's amazing how quickly a seemingly modern fleet can age. In terms of diecast, even though this model was made in 2021, it still feels brand new. NG Models, Alaska Airlines 737-700: N618AS

NG Models developed their 737-700 mould in very short order relative to the company's beginning. That stands in stark contrast to how long N618AS has been a part of the Alaska Airlines fleet. The airframe was delivered to AS in April of 2000. That means this workhorse is pushing 23 years of age. NG Models have gone full steam with their 2021 casting creating up 24 models as of January 2023. They've only made two Alaska 737-7s, this one and a cargo variant.

NG Models, Virgin Atlantic A350-1000, G-VEVE: New Arrival

I acquired this model among five others in October of 2022 (10/14/22). In September of that year NG Models rolled out their brand new A350-1000 mould. The released this model as well as a Airbus 'House Colors' model with 'Qantas' titles. In trying to keep the collection lean, I usually avoid house color liveries. To this day, NG did not return to their A350-1000 mould in 2022.

NG Models, Air India L-1011-500, V2-LEK: New Arrival

I spend a few moments with V2-LEK today. This is one of NG Model's latest Tristars. The model itself is crisp, neat as a pin and certainly holds it's own. For a few bonus shots from today, follow the link.
